USES:

Chlorpyrifos 50 EC is used to control Terminates in Buildings, during construction and in existing buildings and stem borer and bollworm in cotton crops.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Paddy/Rice: Effective against stem borer and leaf roller/folder.
  • Cotton: Controls bollworms (American, pink, spotted), aphids, jassids, thrips, and whiteflies.
  • Maize, Sugarcane, Groundnut, Vegetables (chilli, tomato, brinjal, potato, etc.): Used for various pests including white grubs, root borers, armyworms, cutworms, and fruit borers.
  • It also has significant use in soil applications for controlling termites and white grubs, as it provides a long residual effect in the soil.

Time of Applications:

  • Apply the insecticide at the first signs of pest infestation.
  • The best time for application is during the early morning or late evening hours to avoid strong winds, high temperatures, and direct sunlight, which reduces drift and evaporation.
  • Avoid application on a windy day or if rain is imminent.
  • Repeat applications at 7- to 15-day intervals if pest pressure continues, or as directed by an inspection of the crop.
  • Observe the recommended “waiting period” (time from last application to harvest), which can be around 15 days for rice and 30 days for cotton, as specified on the product label.
